Why #WherePigsFly?

Henderson/Chester County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Emily Johnson introduced the idea of using Where Pigs Fly as a slogan. It not only pays tribute to the thriving farming industry, legendary local barbecue and the Chester County BBQ Festival but also communicates that Henderson and Chester County, Tennessee, are places where seemingly impossible things happen.

First used on chestercountychamber.com, the phrase was then incorporated in murals on the Bramblett Group building (with dreams for more flying pigs to take residence around the area) and t-shirts at Besso’s Coffee.

In late 2020, the Henderson/Chester County Chamber of Commerce adopted a trademarked pig logo to be used on official promotional material. A second version includes a mask to share a message of safety in 2020, and a third has wings to accompany the #WherePigsFly message.

“Pig Tales” is a video series that launched in late 2020, providing an official invitation to neighbors around the world to visit Henderson and Chester County. The series provides an interesting and helpful tour of the region with the fun and personality of Johnson and Channing Carroll (chamber membership and events coordinator).
